Khalili Foundation launches the World Festival of Cultural Diversity at UNESCO

Sir David Khalili, Chairman of the Khalili Foundation and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, launched the World Festival of Cultural Diversity at a special meeting at the UNESCO HQ in Paris.

The World Festival of Cultural Diversity is a global, synchronised celebration of cultural diversity supported by UNESCO. It is a year-round programme of events and activities leading up to the UN World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development on 21st May.

The Festival is created and coordinated by the Khalili Foundation to spotlight efforts around the world to preserve and promote cultural diversity, especially through the cultural sector. Cultural and educational institutions from around the world will participate.

At the UNESCO event titled “The Time to Invest in Creativity is Now!” the Khalili Foundation premiered the Festival trailer and called on organisations to participate by nominating events in their own programmes.

The event also sought to promote the activities of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).
